US retailers have huge discounts on games for their spring sales

Our US readers are in for a treat as both Best Buy and Walmart currently have a spring sale going, reducing many recent and all-time greats to low prices. With the lull before the summer showcases from publishers big and small, now is the time to play those games you’ve always been wanting to, because your gaming library will always increase throughout the year.

Although there are a few Nintendo Switch games on sale, getting them on a deal is always a rarity. Zelda: Breath of the Wild is down to just $39.99 over at Walmart, as is Super Mario Odyssey, the delightful platformer that’s still a joy to play today.

PlayStation titles are also reduced by a big chunk, with savings on some must-plays of recent years. God of War is less than $10 at Best Buy, which you must get round to playing before the Ragnarok sequel hits some time this year. And Spider-Man: Miles Morales is available for just $29.99, a wildly satisfying adventure from the masters at Insomniac. If you’ve been playing Elden Ring and want to check out one of From’s older titles, Bluepoint’s Demon’s Souls remake for the PS5 is reduced to just $39.99.

Rainbow Six Siege players are heading to the Emerald Isle with the newest map.

Set in the rolling hills of Northern Ireland, the map features the Emerald Plains country club and private ranch. Here, you will be able to explore the grounds to develop the best approach for your matches.

This could mean rappelling through the skylight, using the three interior stairs, or seeking cover beside the fireplace atrium. The medium-sized map features two floors inside Emerald Plains, and was partially inspired by the maps Bartlett and Border.

6 lesser-known characters that should return in Street Fighter 6

It’s a rare event that only happens once in a blue moon – it’s time for another numbered Street Fighter game. Which means that it’s also time for us to theorycraft which characters we all want to see make a return in Street Fighter 6.

I’m thinking about SF6 a lot, really – from where it’ll go with esports to what it needs to get right and beyond. But the character roster does loom rather large.

If Street Fighter 5 set any precedent, it’s that in the modern age the starting character roster won’t be the end, of course. SF6 is likely to be continually updated with DLC and seasonal patches that will inevitably add new characters to the game. It’s likely to have a long tail – SF5 started life with 16 characters, and ended its cycle with over 40. So one can dream big.

Call of Duty introduce Snoop Dogg as a playable character in time for 420

Now, this is something I never really expected to see, but Call of Duty is no stranger to having seemingly random household names make an appearance. See: Lewis Hamilton, Fidel Castro, and Jeff Goldblum. As of April 19, with ample time for the musicians favourite holiday, we now have Snoop Dogg himself as an Operator in both Vanguard and Warzone.

This isn’t Snoop’s first rodeo with Call of Duty; the musician was also a multiplayer announcer in some Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC, and is no stranger to streaming video games regularly on his Twitch channel. He is pretty prone to getting distracted, however.

Announced in an official blog post – which makes it sound almost as though Snoop Dogg’s entire career was leading up to this moment – players can purchase the Tracer Pack: Snoop Dogg Operator Bundle for 2,400 COD Points.
