He received his education at New York University and currently lives in East Hampton, New York. Perchik’s work has appeared in over 30 books, websites such as Verse Daily and Jacket, and print magazines such as The New Yorker, Poetry, Partisan Review, The Nation, North American Review, and Weave Magazine, JuxtaProse Literary Magazine, and CLUTCH. He is best known for his highly personal, non-narrative style of poetry. Hands Collected, his poetry book, was longlisted for the National Book Award for Poetry in 2000.
