Tracee Joy Silberstein (born October 29, 1972) is an American actress, singer, television presenter, producer, and director who goes by the stage name Tracee Ellis Ross. She is most recognized for her starring roles in the television shows Girlfriends (2000–2008) and Black-ish (2014–2022), both of which she starred.

She is the owner of Pattern Beauty, a curly hair care company.

Diana Ross, an actress and Motown music singer, and Robert Ellis Silberstein are her parents. She started her career as an actress in indie films and variety shows. On Lifetime, she presented the pop-culture magazine The Dish.

She starred as Joan Clayton in the UPN/CW comedy series Girlfriends from 2000 to 2008, for which she won two NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series.

She also starred in the films Hanging Up (2000), I-See-You.Com (2006), and Daddy’s Little Girls (2007) before returning to television in 2011 to portray Dr. Carla Reed in the BET comedy Reed Between the Lines, for which she won her third NAACP Image Award.

Ross has been featured in the ABC comedy series Black-ish as Dr. Rainbow Johnson since 2014. She won three NAACP Image Awards and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy for her role on it.
